The third annual Midwest Institutional Real Estate Investment Summit returns to Louisville on Wednesday, September 21 at the Ice House. This year’s keynote speaker is Andrew Casperson, Vice President of Operations, Omni Hotels and Resorts, the Fort Worth, Texas, company behind the downtown Louisville Omni development. He joins a distinguished list of real estate executives who have previously addressed the conference, including the chief financial officers of Duke Realty Corporation and Simon Properties.

The Summit opens with a presentation from executives with Regency Properties, a large shopping center investment group, during which they will address capital structure needs.  Then an expert panel of professional real estate experts who will examine acquisition and development challenges they have successfully navigated, as well as urban property investment considerations. The executive director of the River Ridge Development Authority is the featured speaker at December’s REVE meeting. River Ridge is in the news. As a recent Business First story put it: “A building larger than the nearly 1 million-square-foot Inc. fulfillment center could be coming to the 6,000-acre River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville. At its regular monthly meeting on Monday evening, the River Ridge Development Authority’s board of directors, which manages the operations of the business park, authorized a negotiation to sell nearly 80 acres of undeveloped land to a confidential prospect for $60,000 per acre.”

The Real Estate Venture Exchange kicked off its inaugural Indianapolis meeting with keynote speaker David B. Keller, Senior Managing Director of HFF Indianapolis, and a panel of real estate experts examining commercial real estate and capital markets trends in the Midwest and central Indiana.

davekellerKeller, with more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, is primarily responsible for the placement and execution of debt and equity financing for commercial and multi-housing properties. He also is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Indianapolis office of HFF, a leading provider of commercial real estate and capital markets services to the U.S. commercial real estate industry.

The firm maintains formal, long-term relationships with most of the nation’s largest providers of capital including lenders, investors, developers, owners, and advisors. Since 1998, HFF has closed more than $460 billion in more than 18,300 transactions, which range from less than $1 million to more than $2.2 billion.

Burmeister specializes in the sale and redevelopment of income-producing properties and special urban projects. She has been involved in the sale of nearly $1.5 billion of multi-housing product and investment offerings throughout Indiana and the Midwest.

A 20-year real estate veteran, Cohoat oversees the capital management and analysis of capital structure for Becknell, in addition to all accounting, financial reporting, human resources and risk management functions. He previously served as EVP and CFO of Duke Realty.

Kevin will describe the company, its strategic objectives, project funding efforts and overall capitalization needs. Regency Properties is a commercial real estate company specializing in retail property investments in county seat communities, towns that typically serve as the hub for business, local government, recreation and shopping for a surrounding rural region.
